Mental Health First Aid Aotearoa

Equip your team with the skills to recognise and respond to mental health challenges.

About 1 in 5 New Zealand adults experience mental health challenges in any year

This means that at some stage, everyone will have close contact with someone experiencing a mental health challenge, whether it is a whānau member, a team mate, a co-worker or a friend.

Would you know how to respond?

About the Course

The Mental Health First Aid Aotearoa course is a 12-hour, accredited training course that is informed by evidence and backed by robust evaluation.

It teaches you how to provide initial support to someone developing a mental health challenge or experiencing a mental health crisis, using a practical evidence-based action plan.

The course is for anyone who wants to learn how to recognise warning signs of mental ill health, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support a friend, team mate, co-worker, or family member.

This course is for people aged 18 years and over. This is an education workshop not a course for therapeutic purposes or a support group.
